TYPICAL TREATMENT PLAN

INITIAL APPOINTMENT:

Your provider conducts a thorough health evaluation and discusses your health history, current symptoms and concerns. If after this evaluation, they believe you may have low testosterone, they will write an order for blood tests. They may also discuss lifestyle changes including diet and exercise options that can naturally affect testosterone and quality of life. This appointment typically lasts an hour.

FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENT:

Your provider reviews the results of your blood tests, and depending on your results, they may write a prescription for testosterone replacement therapy. Generally occurs within 1-2 weeks after initial appointment. Expect this phone appointment to take 30 minutes.

INJECTION TRAINING:

This appointment is “as needed” for those patients who have been prescribed testosterone as how to safely administer the drug in their own home.

SECOND FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENT:

Your provider reviews how the therapy is working, both lifestyle and prescriptions, and if any adjustments need to be made. Generally occurs eight weeks after first follow-up appointment. Expect this appointment to take 30 minutes.

THIRD FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENT:

This appointment is “as needed” depending on whether adjustments were made in the previous appointment. Generally occurs eight weeks after second follow-up appointment, again, only on an “as needed” basis. Expect this phone appointment to take 15-20 minutes.

SEMI-ANNUAL APPOINTMENT:

These appointments occur once a successful therapy plan is in place. These are routine evaluations of health and symptoms. Blood tests are required semi-annually. Expect these appointments to take 30 minutes.

Phone call or email consultations: During the course of hormone replacement treatment, our clients often call with questions. We are available to ensure your treatment plan is as successful as possible.

We have BHRT physicians willing to make house calls for the patient’s privacy and comfort. If a patient wishes to come into the clinic, visits are per appointment only and not done on a walk-in basis.
